Park(ing) Day Installation 2012

The above images show the schematic design for this year’s AIA Flint Park(ing) Day installation. As a member of the Flint chapter, I was chosen to lead the design and fabrication of our contribution to Park(ing) Day. Below is an example of the intent and international reach this event. Park(ing) Day is a great opportunity to retake some space back from the automobile for the pedestrian.

For those who will be near downtown Flint this Friday, please stop by the corner of First Street and Saginaw Street. I look forward to presenting this installation and I will post pictures from the event. As an additional feature to the event we will be doing a demonstration fabrication on site, so be sure to stop by and take a look.
